End of the 2009 Season Review
By Chris de LaiglesiaThis was an extremely successful year, and although the results at Nationals were a little disappointing, 11-6-2 is an impressive record. The team chemistry was phenomenal, and some beautiful soccer was played. It was difficult to comment on all the players in the articles, so here, Ruppel and I will go over the team players and comment on how each person performed.
The Goalkeepers
Jack Morgan:
Jack probably didn't have the reflexes of the other 3 keepers, but his keeper mentality and basics were extremely solid. Always passionate which showed in his game, always giving 100%.
Billy Cleary:
We never really got a chance to really tryout Billy, as he came later on, but the fact that he has let in 0 goals says a lot. Very reliable when counting on him.
Orestes Mavrothalassitis:
Orestes probably has the best reflexes out of the keepers and is fantastic on one-on-one, and has been a safety net, particularly in the tight fixtures.
Sheldon Edwards:
Sheldon was probably the most commanding of the keepers, always extremely vocal, and his presence in set-pieces were always appreciated.
